It isn’t every Valentine’s Day that falls on a Saturday and we don’t always celebrate the “day of love.” However, for this Valentine’s Day, we decided to take a trip down memory lane that would culminate with a very delicious dinner with one of our favorite TV chefs. Continue reading
Which carry-on bag is the best for travel around Europe without being too heavy?
Learning to travel light with a carry-on is key. On a recent trip to Dublin, we were left for three days without our checked bag. It was tough, especially when the person with our bag called us while we were on a tour of the Wicklow Mountains and there was nothing we could do. Continue reading
For the past few months, I have been researching how to get to Europe the cheapest way possible. Of course, I know that these seats aren’t as comfortable, the services might not be as good and there really are no frequent flyer mile opportunities, but I just had to see how cheap I could get us to Europe from Myrtle Beach. A trip to Colonial Williamsburg is like stepping back in time to an era where people worked together to survive and things were simpler. Not simpler because they didn’t have hard times, but simpler because they didn’t have everything from the outside world bombarding their lives every day.
Our trip started with a long walk around the area taking in the sights and the people. Our dog, Piggy, even enjoyed meeting a new friend. Continue reading

The “sooner” came earlier this year with a week in Dublin. Continue reading
|The view from our apartment in Marseille, France.|
Even more than a week after my husband and I returned from our trip of a lifetime to Marseille, France and Barcelona, Spain I was still reeling from the adventure. Continue reading
Every once in a while, my husband gets the crazy idea that we should go hiking. Most of the time, I am 100 percent on board and mentally prepared for it. However, on our day trip to Howth, about 20 minutes by train from Dublin, I had NO idea that we would be hiking up a very large hill on the other side of the peninsula, but we did and it was magnificent. |Wicklow Mountains in Wicklow County, Ireland|
When I think of Ireland, I think of green grassy hills, beautiful valleys and fields of Heather growing wild. Well, when we headed to the countryside near Dublin, that is exactly what we saw and it was absolutely stunning. We went on the Wild Wicklow Tour that took us to the coastal area of DunLaoghaire Harbour and past the richer parts of the area called Dalkey and Killiney. Continue reading
