Best Valentine’s Day ever
It isn’t every Valentine’s Day that falls on a Saturday and we don’t always celebrate the “day of love.” However, for this Valentine’s Day, we decided to take a trip down memory lane that would culminate with a very delicious dinner with one of our favorite TV chefs. Continue reading
Picking the best travel bag
Which carry-on bag is the best for travel around Europe without being too heavy?
Learning to travel light with a carry-on is key. On a recent trip to Dublin, we were left for three days without our checked bag. It was tough, especially when the person with our bag called us while we were on a tour of the Wicklow Mountains and there was nothing we could do. Continue reading
Getting to Europe using only low-cost carriers
For the past few months, I have been researching how to get to Europe the cheapest way possible. Of course, I know that these seats aren’t as comfortable, the services might not be as good and there really are no frequent flyer mile opportunities, but I just had to see how cheap I could get us to Europe from Myrtle Beach. Colonial Williamsburg |
A trip to Colonial Williamsburg is like stepping back in time to an era where people worked together to survive and things were simpler. Not simpler because they didn’t have hard times, but simpler because they didn’t have everything from the outside world bombarding their lives every day.

Autumn colors in the North Carolina mountains
For the first time ever, we were able to get away to the North Carolina mountains during peak leaf peeping time. We have always wanted to go, but it has never worked out for one reason or another. Continue reading

Wicklow Mountains |
For as long as I have known my husband, he has talked about getting to Ireland some day. I kept that in the back of my mind and when we were saving for a big vacation, I made sure to save just enough more so that we could go to Ireland sooner rather than later.
The “sooner” came earlier this year with a week in Dublin. Continue reading

Even more than a week after my husband and I returned from our trip of a lifetime to Marseille, France and Barcelona, Spain I was still reeling from the adventure. Continue reading
Hiking a huge hill in Howth, Ireland

Scary stairs |
Every once in a while, my husband gets the crazy idea that we should go hiking. Most of the time, I am 100 percent on board and mentally prepared for it. However, on our day trip to Howth, about 20 minutes by train from Dublin, I had NO idea that we would be hiking up a very large hill on the other side of the peninsula, but we did and it was magnificent.
