A road trippin’ summer and fall and looking ahead to 2017

Leaf peeping off the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville

My, oh my, has it been a while since I took a moment to reflect (and write) about our recent travels. It has been a very busy year. This summer and fall, we took quite a few road trips to escape the summer heat of Myrtle Beach and to go leaf peeping in the mountains.

Check out the few other blog posts I wrote including Piggy’s birthday in Charleston, our summer vacation in Asheville and our Independence Day weekend in Richmond.

There were a few others along the way including a late-July trip through Wilmington and onto Kinston for dinner at Chef and the Farmer, an August trip to Columbia where my colleague and I won a South Carolina Broadcaster’s Association award for best news website, a September trip to Charleston to enjoy a French restaurant called Chez Nous, a fall colors trip in October to Asheville and a weekend trip to Charlotte in November where another colleague and I won a Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas (RTDNA) education story award.

I have already written a lot about my love for Charleston, Asheville, and Charlotte and have written a blog post about how much I love Chef and the Farmer, so to write new posts about those seems like a bit much.

For next year, we already have two smaller trips planned to Charleston and Charlotte…mainly so I can see two of my favorite artists: Norah Jones and Regina Spektor!

Other than that, our trip planning for 2017 has just begun. We are open to anywhere within a day’s driving distance of Myrtle Beach. Leave a comment below with any suggestions and let me know where you are headed in 2017.

Safe travels!
